From day one, I felt that BMW 230e was overpowered for a car of this short wheelbase and would require some mastery to keep it tamed, especially when driving RWD on electric .

After covering 10K kms on my Msport 230e, I have decided that the factory installed Bridgestone Turanza 005 225/50 R18 tyres are performing way too poor.

On edrive, regardless of road surface being wet or dry, car oversteers / drifts instantly at the slightest overtouch on the accelerator. Thanks to ESP it catches the line, yet I feel unsafe running on them.

I doubt that BMW would install those outdated tyres on their EU market cars, yet Turkey and alike countries are not regarded as worthy of having Vredestein Ultracs of Conti PC7s etc.

I would like to know, if there are any 230e-225e drivers here who have tried EV certified tyres on their cars and feel satisfied with them.

The latest software update 03/2025.50 was installed overnight automatically when the car was parked yesterday.

HV Battery was fully charged showing 94 kms of range before the installation and I noticed that has dropped down to 81 kms this morning.

Can a software installation end up consuming this much charge to lose 13 kms of range, or the update itself might have led to an algorithm change in range calculation, depending of instant temperature conditions etc???

Wish there was a way of driving the car hybrid and hence xdrive with the touch of a button! When I "disable electric" on a motorway, car still tends to edrive upto 140 km/h till it fully depletes the HV Battery. I would LOVE to be able to at least decide the threshold speed to switch from emotor rwd to hybrid xdrive, IE 80-90 km/h. The philosophy of "the car decides the best" is a bit too optimistic in real world conditions.

A very common reason of rattling wipers is inappropriate application of rain repellents. Avoid applying them if not really needed, but If it is required in your winter conditions, always use a quality product and precisely refer to manufacturer's instructions. Some products require application of a single layer, whereas others may require a second one and as a general rule completing the process in a coolish/shadow area to avoid fast evaporation/drying.
